Welcome to Life After Last Call
Hi, I’m Eric Kramer, the creator of Sobervation, and I’m thrilled to introduce you to my brand-new podcast, Life After Last Call. This is a space where we’ll talk about life beyond alcohol—the struggles, the victories, and the unexpected joys of living a sober life. Together with my husband, Rich, we’re opening up about our personal journey through recovery, sharing insights that will inspire, connect, and hopefully make you laugh.
The name of the podcast says it all: it’s about what happens after you put down the bottle. For me, sobriety wasn’t just about quitting drinking—it was about completely redefining my life and learning how to truly live again.
Why Sobriety? Why Now?
This first episode dives deep into what led me to finally say goodbye to alcohol and embrace sobriety. Like so many, I tried moderation more times than I can count. I’d tell myself, “Tonight, I’ll only drink this much,” or “Tomorrow, I’ll start fresh.” But it never worked. Moderation became a trap, and before I knew it, I was drinking a full bottle of vodka every night.
Sobriety wasn’t easy at first. Alcohol had been my escape—from stress, from emotions, from life itself. But the truth is, drinking never solved my problems—it just delayed them. Sobriety meant facing those problems head-on and learning healthier ways to cope.
Rich and I also reflect on how alcohol influenced every aspect of our lives. Whether it was planning vacations or just hanging out at home, everything revolved around drinking. When I finally got sober, I had to relearn what it meant to have fun, to connect with others, and to live a life I didn’t feel the need to escape from.
The Birth of Sobervation
Sobriety didn’t just change my personal life—it sparked something creative in me. A year into my recovery, I launched Sobervation, a lifestyle brand dedicated to supporting and celebrating sobriety. It started as a blog—a way for me to organize my thoughts, process emotions, and hold myself accountable. Over time, it grew into a brand that reflects everything I’ve learned on this journey.
Sobervation is about more than just being sober—it’s about building a life full of joy, growth, and connection. The podcast is a natural extension of that mission, giving me a chance to share my story in a more personal way and hopefully inspire others along the way.
